Situation
Cytomic Data Watch is a data security module, integrated in Advanced EPDR/EDR, designed to help you to comply with the personal data regulations, protect and give you visibility into the personal data or PII (Personal Identifiable Information) of your organization both in real time and throughout their life cycle when they reside in the posts and servers. Cytomic Data Watch discovers, audits and monitors unstructured personal data, more specifically Office, OpenOffice, PDF, txt and csv files, at the endpoint: from data at rest, data in use, and data in motion.
In order for Cytomic Data Watch to be able to track personal information, it is necessary to have the Microsoft Filter Pack component installed on the computers. Otherwise, the status of the Cytomic Data Watch protection will be displayed at the Advanced EPDR/EDR console as enabled (without Microsoft Office).
Solution
- Download and install the Microsoft Filter Pack component in those computers that require it by clicking on the link below:
- Follow the wizard through.
Please note that under XP and 2003 SP1, as the component is not integrated by default, as soon as the Microsoft Filter Pack installer is launched, a window will indicate that Microsoft Core XML Services 6.0 is required and will provide the download of the component.
